OCLC FirstSearch

FirstSearch is a database of databases.  Available within FirstSearch are:
ArticleFirst
ArticleFirst contains bibliographic citations that describe items listed on the table of contents pages of more than 12,000 journals in science, technology, medicine, social science, business, the humanities, and popular culture.
PapersFirst
PapersFirst provides access to individual papers presented at conferences worldwide. It is a major research aid covering every congress, symposium, exposition, workshop, and meeting added to The British Library Document Supply Centre's vast proceedings collection since October 1993.

Electronic Collections Online

Electronic Collections Online (ECO) indexes over 3,000 scholarly journals in a variety of subject areas. ECO includes bibliographic information for all journal articles.  Full text and abstracts are not included in Nebraska's statewide subscription.

ProceedingsFirst

ProceedingsFirst indexes worldwide meetings, conferences, expositions, workshops, congresses, and symposia. Each ProceedingsFirst record describes one event. A list of papers presented at the event is included.

ERIC

The ERIC database indexes and abstracts both published and unpublished sources on thousands of educational topics. All levels and types of education are covered, including early childhood, elementary, secondary, higher, adult, vocational, and special. It is the online equivalent of RIE (Resources in Education) and CIJE (Current Index to Journals in Education).

Union List of Periodicals

The Union List of Periodicals contains records for individual issues of magazines and journals. Each record is linked to library holdings information, allowing librarians and patrons alike to find out which libraries own individual issues. This database does not include article-level information.

GPO Monthly Catalog

The GPO Monthly Catalog consists of records published by the Government Printing Office (GPO) since July 1976. It includes references to congressional committee reports and hearings, debates, documents from executive departments, and more. All subjects of interest to the U.S. government are covered.

World Almanac

The World Almanac is a fundamental reference source for everyone—students, library patrons, library reference staff, and scholars alike. This database includes information from Funk & Wagnalls New Encyclopedia, plus four almanacs: The World Almanac and Book of Facts; The World Almanac of the U. S. A.; The World Almanac of U. S. Politics; and The World Almanac for Kids. Subject coverage includes arts and entertainment, U.S. cities and states, people in the news, the nations of the world, sports, the environment, vital statistics, science and technology, computers, taxes, and much more.

MEDLINE

MEDLINE covers all areas of medicine, including clinical medicine, experimental medicine, dentistry, nursing, health services administration, nutrition, and much more. It cites over 9,000 sources (most with abstracts), from 1965 to the present.

WorldCat

WorldCat contains over 40 million records describing material cataloged by OCLC member libraries around the world. It includes bibliographic information on books, manuscripts, videos, sound recordings, periodicals, maps, newspapers, musical scores, and computer programs.
 

 

 

Books in Print

Books in Print provides access to over 3.5 million records. The database includes information from Books in Print, Books Out-of-Print, Children's Books in Print, Forthcoming Books, Bowker's Publisher Authority Database, Bowker's Complete Video Directory, Words on Cassette plus information on award winners and bestsellers. The Publishers Authority Database contains over 165,000 publishers, distributors, wholesalers and book agents.  The full-text reviews provided in Books In Print are from well known sources including Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, School Journal, Choice and The Horn Book.
 

 

WilsonWeb

WilsonWeb is a single interface for two databases including:
Wilson Omni-File
Wilson OmniFile Full Text Select is a multidisciplinary, 100% full text database. It provides indexing, abstracts, and full text articles from over 1,300 magazines and journals dating back to January 1994. Subject coverage includes current events, business, education, science, the humanities, and the social sciences (including librarianship).
Wilson Biographies Plus Illustrated
Wilson Biographies Plus Illustrated contains more than 95,000 biographies and obituaries and more than 26,000 photographs of the subjects. Many of the biographies are enhanced with full text, abstracts, and citations from H. W. Wilson databases. Wilson Biographies Plus Illustrated contains the full text of the articles from more than 100 volumes of biographical reference books published by H. W. Wilson, including all the articles from all volumes of Current Biography, the World Author Series, Nobel Prize Winners, World Artists, World Film Directors, American Reformers, and numerous biographical books on musicians and composers from throughout history. The biographies are searchable by name, profession, title, place of origin, gender, race/ethnicity, titles of works, date of birth, date of death, keyword, and presence of images.
 

 

 

Kiplinger Forecasts

Kiplinger Forecasts is an Internet subscription service based on The Kiplinger Letter. Kiplinger Forecasts gives you the same concise, authoritative business forecasts and expert advice that make The Kiplinger Letter the most widely read business outlook letter in the U.S.
 

 

 

Big Chalk eLibrary

eLibrary provides full-text access to a wide variety of source material, including: magazine, journal, and newspaper articles; wire service stories; television and radio transcripts; photographs; maps; and reference books (almanacs, dictionaries, subject encyclopedias, etc.). The database supports both natural language and Boolean searching and is designed to provide novice users with easy access to online information.
 

 

HeritageQuest Online

HeritageQuest Online is the marriage of ProQuest's Genealogy & Local History Online, a collection of over 25,000 family and local histories, and content from HeritageQuest, the largest genealogical data, products, supplies and equipment provider to consumers and institutions in the United States.  Content includes complete U. S. Federal Census information for 1790-1930.  It is a growing database that will in the future include: ProQuest's Newspaper Obituaries, Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Applications, Freedman's Bank Records, and more.
